Over scarlet seas
Under gray ether of sand
Where shadows dance as they please

Here, dine specter and serpent
Wraith and cherub alike
Garnet embers repent
With ashen haste of Nike

Obstructed pitch for the lamp
In wretched service to night

Addressed to "Shimmering Bright"

Long abandoned by men
Her island's body is sin
Quartering vile denizen
Cloaked by grand apparition

Her monarch is darkness
Court of inaudible screeching;
Wolves hounded, yet barkless-
Stoic; silently breaching

And, beyond that vast threshold
Of impenetrable black snow
Where her atrophy has been sold
Vines yield to the decay from which they grow

Shrouded by spell
Reprobate victims of life
Today, her ego was fell
Purging the island and strife

Now, she enters descent
Like, frequent storms that she hail
Drowning death and his scent
Seraphim salute hell
